The program

The Baronet chess program collects no personal data. It has no account, no analytics and no telemetry, and it never connects to the internet. Your games, preferences and lesson progress are stored only on your own device, in the program's settings folder, and you can delete them at any time.

This website

This website, the-baronet.com, is published by David Thoiron. It does not require you to create an account and does not ask for personal information, except through the contact form described below.

Advertising and cookies

This website uses Google AdSense to display advertisements. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.

You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info. More information on how Google uses data is available at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

Visitors from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for their consent before personalised advertising cookies are used, and can change their choice at any time through the consent message.

Fonts

The pages use fonts served by Google Fonts. Your browser requests them from Google's servers, which receive your IP address as part of any web request.

Contact form

Messages sent through the contact form are delivered by Formspree, Inc. The name, email address and message you enter are used only to reply to you, or, if you ask for it, to tell you once when the mobile version is released. They are never sold or shared, and you can ask for them to be deleted at any time.

Server logs

Like every web server, the hosting provider records technical information about requests (IP address, date, page requested, browser type) for security and to keep the site running. These logs are not used to identify visitors.

Your rights

Under the GDPR and similar laws, you have the right to access, correct or delete personal data held about you, and to object to its processing. To exercise these rights, use the contact form.

Changes

This policy may be updated when the website or the program changes. The date at the top of the page shows the latest version.
